I’m a Canadian farm kid who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s. Although I never served in the military myself, I’ve always felt a deep respect for those who have. I wanted to give back in some way, and volunteering as the videographer for the Riding 22 in 22 Veteran Suicide Awareness became the perfect way to contribute.
Through the lens of my camera, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the stories, emotions, and moments that make this ride so powerful. The interaction with veterans and their families has been both gratifying and heart-wrenching opening my eyes to the depth of their struggles, the strength of their bonds, and the importance of bringing awareness to the battle they continue to face.
For me, this work is more than documenting a ride and events, it’s about honoring the sacrifices made, amplifying voices that need to be heard, and doing my part to support our veterans in their fight for hope and healing
